Blog Entry 29 Election Campaign 2013

In this case, Shakespeare is on the board, not the bard (or the beach)

(VANCOUVER-KINGSWAY) I’m walking under a canopy of blooming lilac trees past flowering gardens and trying to pay full attention to my tour guide, Geoff Shakespeare (no relation), vice-president of the H.W. Flesher Co-op board, but I’m having a hard time of it because, well, I keep on thinking of what a treat the candidates in this riding have in store for them on Friday. This is a Section 95 co-op in the heart of the riding currently represented by NDP leader Adrian Dix, just off Kingsway with its traffic, stores, restaurants and business.

But you wouldn’t know it from here. H.W. Flesher is a little urban oasis, and if Dix can take a break from his provincial campaigning, he’ll get a real insight into the advantages of co-op living. B.C. Green candidate Greg Esau has promised to be here tonight at 6:00 p.m. and BC Liberal standard-bearer Gurjit Dhillon has promised to do her best to attend. Why don’t you drop by? True, it’s Geoff, not Will, it’s Kingsway, not the King’s Men, but I’m sure it will be a command performance nonetheless...
