Blog Entry Two Election Campaign 2013:

(VICTORIA) I was at the Legislature for a press availability event along with CHF BC Director Patty Shaw and Kailasa co-op member Lorraine Murray. We went up to the Legislative Press Gallery lounge to speak with any media who might be available. Almost all the reporters were busy, frantically preparing their election preview think-pieces, but we did have a long chat with Tom Fletcher from Black Press, which was good.

We'll keep reminding the media over the course of the election campaign that co-ops on Vancouver Island are concentrated in the Capital Regional District, which would really notice losing all those assisted units in a short period. The CRD has an active housing authority, but they have always relied on senior government programs. They couldn't replace these units on their own. Thanks to Patty and Lorraine, who did a fine job getting our messages across. More to come on this file...
