Blog Entry 204: Key Campaign road show gives message to multiple MPs: fix the co-op housing crunch in Budget 2016

The Key Campaign Team is on the road and in the thick of the federal government’s Budget 2016 consultation process. They were front and center at the Surrey Board of Trade breakfast with Finance Minister Bill Morneau last Saturday morning (pictured below) and have been putting in the miles by going out and meeting with Liberal MPs like Dan Ruimy (Pitt Meadows-Maple Ridge), Jonathan Wilkinson (North Vancouver), Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan (Vancouver South) and Randeep Surai (Surrey Centre). The team had an especially positive meeting with Terry Beech (MP for Burnaby North-Seymour and Parliamentary Secretary for Science) who said he’s sold on federal funding for a provincially-delivered rent supplement program for low-income co-op members in the next federal budget. How about you? You don’t have to log any extra miles to be part of the budget consultation process. There’s lots you can do right there at home. Check out how you can to that and be part of the budget consultation process on the YKTH Campaign website. Working together, we can unlock the solution and protect co-op housing.
