Housing co-op members got some great news today from federal Finance Minister Bill Morneau: short-term funding to protect our most vulnerable members while a long-term fix to the co-op housing crunch gets worked out with the provinces. The $30 million over two years is designed to keep rent-geared-to-income subsidies for low-income co-op households going until a provincially-delivered rent supplement program is put in place. It’s a significant win for the campaign and it would not have happened without the dedication of thousands of members across the country and right here in B.C. Now, let’s make sure the B.C. government follows through. We’ll be working with partners like CHF Canada and others to make that happen. And we’ll need your help: stay involved. We got this far because of your commitment. Now let’s seal the deal!
