Election Blog Entry 14: Town Hall on Affordable Housing sees federal candidates support Key Campaign

Nice crowd, energized candidates and a motivated moderator -- can’t ask for more than that at a campaign event, but in fact, there was more at the BC Rental Housing Coalition’s Town Hall on Affordable Housing Wednesday night at UBC Robson Square. Not only did we get to see CHF BC Executive Director Thom Armstrong ask the first question, no fewer than five federal candidates got to hold the Key to the Co-op, having pledged their support for federal funding for provincially-delivered rent supplement programs for low-income co-op members. They were:

  • Lisa Barrett (Green Party, Vancouver Centre)
  • Jen Martel (NDP, Abbotsford)
  • Elain Ng (Green Party, Vancouver South)
  • Kyle Routledge (Green Party, New Westminster-Burnaby)
  • Peter Tam (Green Party, Pitt Meadows-Maple Ridge)
