Election Blog Entry 23: Time for your Co-op Posse to saddle up and head for the polls

With Election Night just four days away, it’s time you organized your Co-op Posse to round up as many members as possible and get them down to the polls to vote. Not sure how to rustle up your posse? Sheriff Don has some tips for ya’ll. Check out the video on our YouTube channel.

And a big howdy to all the folks who came out to the meeting last night at Greenland Co-op. About 25 folks from Greenland and Delta Green Co-ops came out to hear how they can form their own posses to get the vote out. They also got to grill Steveston-Richmond East candidates Laura-Leah Shaw (Green) and Scott Stewart (NDP). Both candidates support the You Hold the Key Campaign Election 2015 position of federal funding for provincially-delivered rent supplement programs for low-income co-op members. And they also support re-investing the money government saves on expiring operating agreements into housing programs. They were happy to psoe with the Key to the Co-op with CHF BC Vice-president Amanda Skillin.

CHF BC and CHF Canada are urging co-op members to Vote Co-op Housing -- vote for candidates who support our call to fix the cop-op housing crunch. Make sure you check out the CHF Canada election website to find out which candidates are co-op friendly.

And don’t forget -- on Oct. 19, vote co-op housing!
