2012 AGM will feature two special resolutions

  15 November 2012

Delegates at CHF BC’s December 1st annual general meeting will be asked to adopt two special resolutions.  Both special resolutions propose amendments to the Federation’s current Rules. The first (Qualifications of Member Housing Co-operatives) would update the definition of a member housing co-op to include both non-profit housing co-ops and co-ops financed with equity from their members. This follows the resolution adopted by members at the SAGM in May 2012, which called on CHF BC to explore every opportunity to support the development of new housing co-ops, including traditional non-profit co-ops and those with options for member equity contributions. The second resolution (Election of Vancouver Island Directors) would allow the Vancouver Island Council to hold elections at more than one meeting a year if it needed to fill a vacancy in one of the two positions reserved for Vancouver Island Directors. You can find more information on the AGM here and a copy of the registration package that was mailed to our member co-ops in our members’ only pages.  This year’s AGM will include a celebration of CHF BC’s 30th anniversary and many other exciting activities. Please plan to join us on December 1.
