Sad news as CHF BC bids farewell to long-time friend - June 23, 2016

Saying farewell to April

With great sadness we share the news of the passing of our long-time education consultant and friend, April English.

Many of you knew April through her popular workshops and her work as a facilitator, mediator and meeting chair. It was not uncommon for co-ops to reschedule meetings just to be sure that April would be available to help them work through their toughest challenges.
April was a partner in her own conflict resolution firm, the YES Resolution Group and a consultant for CHF BC. She specialized in organizational and community development, strategic planning, multiparty conflict intervention and mediation, adult education, and discrimination and communication in the workplace.

April was fearless in her determination to give everyone a voice in the many workshops and meetings she guided for CHF BC and our member co-ops. We all learned from her and we are all grateful that we knew her.

There will be a Celebration of Life in April's honour at 5:30 p.m. on Friday June 24 at VanDusen Botanical Garden's Floral Hall  at 5251 Oak Street, Vancouver, BC. Please follow link to RSVP if you plan to attend.

In lieu of flowers, friends are invited to send a donation on April's behalf to one of the these organizations:

Immigrant Services Society of BC
Women Transforming Cities
Vancouver Hospice Society

New journey for director

We also say farewell, for now, to Lorien Quattrocchi who has resigned her position as a CHF BC director.

Lorien served as secretary on the CHF BC board and played an active role as a spokesperson for the You Hold the Key Campaign and other Federation initiatives.

She is returning to her roots in Nelson, BC to pursue a job opportunity. We thank Lorien and wish her the best.
