Community Housing Land Trust Foundation

The Land Trust was established in 1993 by CHF BC members to acquire, create and preserve affordable housing for future generations and to foster self-managed housing communities in BC. For more information on the Land Trust, contact us.

Disability Trust

As part of joining a housing co-op, a prospective member must buy a number of shares. The Disability Trust helps people with disabilities who are unable to pay for their shares. Recognizing that even a small extra monthly cost can be a hardship for those on a fixed income, the Disability Trust helps by providing a loan with no fee or interest.

Domestic Violence Relief Fund (DVRF)

The DVRF is a program administered by the Land Trust to help women who have experienced or are at risk of abuse, threats or violence.  As with the Disability Trust, the DVRF provides loans with no fee or interest to qualified beneficiaries. COHO Management Services Society

COHO Management Services Society is the co-op management services arm of CHF BC. Created by the Federation in 1983, COHO offers management and consulting services to BC housing co-ops on a not-for-profit basis.

COHO's aim is to meet the operational and financial management requirements of housing co-operatives, while helping them to retain democratic control of their affairs.

COHO offers a wide range of services for co-ops to choose from. It specializes in financial, accounting and corporate services and also offers a full maintenance and repair service. Contract staff are available to work directly from your co-op's own office.

It is not necessary to belong to CHF BC to use COHO. Contact COHO for more information:

CRS specializes in maintenances for co-ops in Greater Vancouver and Vancouver Island.
