Co-operative Activities!

The best way to learn about cooperation is to practice! Here are some fun ways you can work together with your friends to show off your spirit of co-operation…

  • Start a newsletter –
Prepare a weekly newsletter for your parents, informing them of what you have been doing in school during the week. Get a group of friends together and divide up the duties: writing, designing, layout and printing. Put it all together and give your newsletter a name that shows people your great teamwork skills, like “The Collaborator,” or “Co-operative News.” Be creative!
  • Be dramatic –
Get a group together to create a dramatic play that you can perform for family, friends or classmates! Hold a meeting to decide what your play will be about. Decide who the major characters will be, and who will play each character. Write a script, practice your part, and find any props you might need. Put it all together… and you’ve got drama!
  • Build a business –
Work together to earn some extra money in the summertime. Start a lemonade stand with a group of friends. Sit down to decide what each of you will do: Who will make the lemonade? Who will make signs so people know what you are selling? Who will sell the lemonade? How much will you sell it for? Work in a team to answer these important questions, and have fun selling delicious lemonade to your family, friends and neighbours!
  • Diversify –
For this activity, you will need a large map of the world and some colourful thumbtacks – be careful with the thumbtacks! Ask your friends and classmates to name their ethnic backgrounds, and locate everyone’s country of origin on the map with a thumbtack. See how many different countries your group represents.
