CHF BC director Gabe Dennis wins Mark Goldblatt Scholarship

  16 July 2019

We are pleased to announce that CHF BC director Gabe Dennis is a winner of one of the 2019 Mark Goldblatt Leadership Scholarships. The scholarship is awarded to housing co-op members across Canada who are promising full-time students, previous scholarship winners and current directors of a housing co-op or housing co-op federation.

The Mark Goldblatt Leadership Scholarship was created by CHF Toronto (CHFT) to honour the late Mark Goldblatt, a pioneer and leader of the Canadian co-op housing movement.

Gabe Dennis has now been the recipient of both CHF BC and CHFT scholarship awards.  He has served four years as president of his own co-op, been involved in lease negotiations with the City of Vancouver, developed and hosted three different co-op education conference workshops, appeared in videos and interviews on the subject of good governance, internal financial controls, the future of the co-op movement, group dynamics, community development, conflict resolution, and more.  He is also the Federation’s delegate to the BC Non-Profit Housing Association.
