Civil Resolution Tribunal set to hear disputes from housing co-ops

  12 July 2019

The Civil Resolution Tribunal (CRT) describes itself as Canada’s first online tribunal to offer dispute resolution in a timely, accessible and inexpensive manner.

In May 2018, Bill 22 (Civil Resolution Tribunal Amendment Act) was introduced in the Province of British Columbia. As of July 15, 2019, the CRT will begin to hear disputes from housing co-operatives.

CRT’s jurisdiction already extends to disputes from strata properties, motor vehicle accidents and small claims ($5,000 and under).
