Each scholarship is worth up to $5,000 and is awarded in multiple years: $2,000 in the first year of study and then $1,000 a year for up to three more years.
The purpose of the CHF BC Scholarship Fund is to support the educational goals of co-op members, particularly young co-op members who are already making a contribution to their communities. Our goal is to invest in the future of housing co-ops by supporting the education and development of young co-op and community leaders.
Scholarships can be awarded to students graduating from high school and planning to enroll in a college, university, or apprenticeship program; students already enrolled in a college, university, or apprenticeship program; and students returning to school after a break in their education. Scholarships are for undergraduate studies only.
Applicants must:
The maximum award is $5,000. Scholarship winners will receive $2,000 in their first year of study and $1,000 each year thereafter for up to four years of study. Scholarship winners who are already enrolled in a program will receive $2,000 in their first scholarship year. Scholarships are for undergraduate studies only.
To ensure the integrity of the selection process, we recruit an independent review committee so that the selection of scholarship recipients won’t be made by CHF BC staff or directors. More information is also available at www.chf.bc.ca/scholarship.
