Co-op members: Have you considered welcoming an independent or semi-independent adult with a developmental disability to your co-op community? Learn more at this free information event.

6 p.m.

Many adults with developmental disabilities are able to live quite independently in their own homes with minimal staff support.

Yet communities often exclude these individuals. Let’s change that and take the necessary steps to be truly inclusive and share our caring co-op communities with these adults. The experience is truly life changing for your co-op members and the person with the developmental disability.

Since 2018, CHF BC has been working with the Community Living Society of BC (CLS) to offer homes in our new Community Land Trust (CLT) co-ops for their clients. CLS has referred six individuals and they are thriving in their co-op homes.

Would you like to learn more about the program and how your housing co-op might participate?  Please join us on April 7, 2021 at 6 p.m., when you will hear from the staff that support these individuals in their semi-independent lifestyles. They will also be able to answer any questions you have.
