As part of this year’s celebration of Black History Month, AACCCS is hosting a symposium on the milestones and progress made within the community over the last few years.

The United Nations proclaimed 2015-2024 an International Decade for People of African Descent (IDPAD), recognizing that people of African descent represent a distinct group whose human rights must be promoted and protected everywhere(United Nations, 2021).

The African Art & Cultural Community Contributor Society (AACCCS) Black- in-B.C. Action plan was initiated in works with the IDPAD; and will support the needs of Black communities in B.C. as dictated by the research held over the period of the B.C. As part of this year’s celebration of Black History Month, we are hosting a symposium on the milestones and progress made within the community over the last few years.
