Fire at co-op leaves members looking for short-term housing alternatives

  9 April 2021

Early on the morning of Saturday, April 3, members of Devonshire Court Housing Co-op in Maple Ridge woke to the sound of fire alarms and the smell of smoke. Because of a fire that started on the second floor of the apartment building, everyone had to be evacuated by local emergency services. Many of the co-op’s 47 member households, in one and two-bedroom units, will not be able to return to their homes for some time because of fire and/or water damage. CHF BC continues to call on housing co-ops in the Lower Mainland that may have vacancies to consider offering them to these members on a short-term basis.

Here is the story in the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows Newshttps://www.mapleridgenews.com/news/video-fire-forces-evacuation-of-maple-ridge-apartment-building/
