Developing healthy relationships with First Peoples and to the land is key to fostering community health. This session will explore the meaning of colonization, de-colonization, restitution and reconciliation as applied to individual members and to their housing co-ops.

Shari has lived at Kaslo co-op for the past six years, has served on the Board twice and is currently the chair of the newly created Kaslo Cooperative Action Committee (Kaslo CAN). With her background in population health promotion, Shari sees co-operatives as a key part of creating healthy communities and is interested in exploring ways to foster the engagement of co-ops in wider community organizing initiatives.
