AFTERNOON PLENARY: ‘Opening Doors: Creating Diverse and Inclusive Communities’
1:15 pm – 2:30 pm

The afternoon plenary will shine a light on our conference theme: creating diverse and inclusive communities. Our five-member panel will inspire and challenge you with their success stories and their plans to build on those accomplishments here in BC. Bring your own stories about what your co-op does to value diversity and promote inclusion, and find out what others have to share.

Hear our panelists’ unique stories about creating inclusive communities:

  • Charla Huber – Communications and Indigenous Relations for the M’akola Housing Society and M’akola Development Services
  • Janet Klees – currently with Durham Family Resources and former Family Coordinator with Deohaeko Support Network speaking about Rougemount Housing Co-op and other neighbourhoods providing welcoming communities in Ontario.
  • Paul Gauthier – Executive Director of Individualized Funding Resource Centre speaking about The Right Fit Project.
  • Ross Chilton – Chief Executive Officer for Community Living speaking about the My Home My Community Project.
  • Tanyss Knowles – Project Coordinator for The Getting Home Project.
