Chairing
Having an external, professional chairperson can help co-ops run effective and efficient meetings. Whether it’s a co-op meeting with a contentious agenda or just to get on track running proper and legally-sound meetings, CHF BC is here to help.
Whether your co-op meeting is in person, online or hybrid, our experienced chairpeople are available to support your co-op. Each chairperson will work with you to make sure you’ve considered all aspects for your meeting and offer advice based on best practices.
Conflict or other community issues
Do you have tensions at your co-op that you are wanting addressed? CHF BC offers support through facilitated discussions. If you are looking for professional mediators, we can help with that search.
Our consultants bring a range of experience, knowledge and skill sets. We can also conduct a member survey for your co-op to make sure these facilitated conversations are driven by member needs
Board coaching
Sometimes you need an external set of eyes to offer advice on what you can do differently or to be legally-compliant. Our board coaching service can make sure your board meetings run more effectively through advice and guidance on what is going well and where to make changes.
Our consultants can attend one or more board meetings to make sure you’re back on the right path. We can also help your co-op board make a plan for one year or more.
Co-op Compass
Housing co-ops are businesses, associations and communities. Meeting the goals for each purpose means having a clear vision, mission and values.
The Co-op Compass is a facilitated series of conversations that helps housing co-ops identify their vision, articulate a mission statement and describe their values. Members are engaged through the process by attending sessions and providing feedback.

Tailored Community Support
