CHF BC has summarized the platforms of each of the three major parties on housing:
BC Liberals
The Liberals promise to meet the challenge of homelessness and cite the $172M recently committed to six sites in Vancouver for supportive housing, i.e. housing combined with mental health and addiction services. They are also promising a further $130M for 478 additional supportive units.
Also in the platform is a commitment for $123M for 1,000 seniors units to be built in small communities.
They will also continue the Rent Supplement program, which currently provides an average of $350 per month to 7,700 households living in private rental housing.
The platform includes no commitments to CHF BC
