VIRTUAL MEETINGS

Here we have some guidelines and suggestions for virtual meetings. We have a separate page describing CHF BC virtual Meeting Support Services.

You need to log-in with a member account to access these and other member resources. Any member of a CHF BC member co-op can sign up for one here.

Here's a link to a short video that sums up best practices for video calls.

Virtual Meetings: Options

Board meetings, annual general meetings (with or without elections), town halls and information sessions, general meetings considering special resolutions — all of these can be carried out online, or offered online combined with in-person events. These allow participants to communicate by voice, share video, and see presentations and provide flexibility. They provide more options to more people.

There are several platforms to choose from, but Zoom and GoToMeeting are the most commonly used by co-ops in BC. (These are the platforms most used by CHF BC when working with other co-ops, but we’ve also had good experience with Teams, Skype, WebEx and others.) Features and costs vary, so please check with providers’ websites to figure out which system will work best for your meeting.
