BCICS hosting Co-op Conference for Youth in Victoria

  3 June 2010

The BC Institute of Co-op Studies (BCIS) is hosting “Building Co-operative Futures: a forum for young people” to be held May 24 to 27 at the University of Victoria.
This forum is designed for young people between the ages of 18 and 25 who are interested in the co-operative system, models and values. The goal of the forum is to provide participants with information about building a viable career or volunteer role in the co-op sector. Participants will attend info sessions and small workshops while interacting with individuals with diverse backgrounds and from around the world. Click here for more information about the forum.
The BC Institute for Co-op Studies was founded in January 2000 under the directorship of Dr Ian MacPherson. Its aim is to understand how the co-op model functions and how it can contribute to meeting economic and social needs. BCICS is a catalyst for research, learning, and teaching about co-operative practice and thought, committed to establishing co-op studies as an important field of inquiry.
