Your feedback will help the city understand the housing needs of seniors, Elders and older adults aged 55+ living in Vancouver. Your input will help shape policies, partnerships, and advocacy actions being developed as part of the Seniors Housing Strategy this year.

There are a number of ways to get involved:

Attend a public engagement pop-up event

The project team will be hosting drop-in engagement activities on three different dates and locations (no registration required, light refreshments will be provided):

  • Sunset Community Centre: Friday, March 24 (TOMORROW!), from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm
    • Location: 6810 Main St, in the main entrance foyer
  • Kingsgate Mall: Tuesday, March 28, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
    • Location: 370 East Broadway, in the vacant unit on south side of food court, between Lolli Pretty and Bunao Optical
  • Strathcona Community Centre: Tuesday, April 4, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm
    • Location: 601 Keefer St, in the main entrance foyer
    • Language: A Cantonese interpreter will be present at this event.

Accessibility:

All pop-up events will be held in wheelchair-accessible locations near to public transit routes. There will be seating at each event, with opportunities for both verbal and written input. If you have any other accessibility needs, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Fill out a short online survey

The survey for seniors and older adults 55+ is available here, and for caregivers and senior-serving organizations here. The survey for seniors is also available in Traditional Chinese here. The surveys will close on April 13.

Lead a conversation using our Conversation Kit

Lead a discussion and gather feedback from seniors and older adults aged 55+ you know. You can lead a session with an individual or a group, such as a community group that meets regularly, a group of assisted living or long-term care residents, or a family member, in a few simple steps.

Download the Conversation Kit here and submit by April 30.

The City of Vancouver looks forward to hearing from you and please reach out to housingpolicy@vancouver.ca should you have any questions.
