The Co-operative Housing Federation of BC is thrilled to introduce the Centre for Co-operative Learning – a new online platform that will elevate our educational offerings, providing easy-to-use, self-paced educational options and resources that will make learning more accessible than ever before.
This new platform was informed by years of working cooperatively with CHF BC members, and the resources reflect common needs of co-op members, and best practices in co-op management.
“Each co-op community is unique,” says Thom Armstrong, CHF BC CEO. “But many of the challenges they face, from maintaining aging buildings, to developing fair and inclusive membership policies, are universal. We’ve developed the Centre for Co-operative Learning to help guide co-ops and their members through these challenges, creating thriving co-op communities that are sustainable, welcoming, and permanently affordable.”
Education is key for all co-op members, whether they’re just moving in, or an experienced board member. It’s important for members to understand their rights and responsibilities, as well as the best practices that help communities thrive.
This new platform will have the same information and resources previously offered on the members-only area of chf.bc.ca, but presented in a more comprehensive and easily accessible package. An account will no longer be necessary to access the majority of resources but will be required for some courses and event registration.
