CHF Canada members in BC to select election candidate at CHF BC SAGM

  3 June 2010

There will be an election at CHF Canada’s AGM in Toronto on June 14, 2008 to choose a new BC/Yukon regional director. Delegates attending the AGM from BC will be eligible to vote.
CHF BC would like to give more of CHF Canada’s BC members a chance to have a say in this election. We also want to see if we can agree to speak with a unified BC voice in Toronto and put our support behind one candidate chosen here in BC.
With CHF Canada’s support, we will hold an Election Forum at CHF BC’s SAGM on Saturday, May 3, 2008. The SAGM is at the Executive Hotel & Conference Centre, 4201 Lougheed Highway, Burnaby.
Here’s how the Election Forum will work. Right after CHF Canada’s report to our SAGM, each declared candidate will have two minutes to speak to the delegates. We’ll then have a brief question/answer period, followed by one-minute wrap-up remarks from the candidates. Delegates from CHF Canada member co-ops will then cast a ballot for one of the candidates. The chosen candidate will have CHF BC’s support during the election at CHF Canada’s Toronto AGM. We hope that the other candidates will agree to stand aside so that BC is putting just the one name forward.
You are invited to attend the Election Forum whether you are a CHF BC member or not.
Only candidates recognized by CHF Canada will be able to participate in the Election Forum. For more details, or to find out how to become a candidate, visit
