3 – 5 p.m. | Vancouver Jewish Community Centre
In a time of such crisis, where do we start? When the problems facing this city run so deep and seem so insurmountable, it requires coming together like never before.
That’s why the Metro Vancouver Alliance (MVA) is hosting a Solidarity Action Assembly on Sunday April 23, 2023, from 3PM-5PM at the Vancouver Jewish Community Centre, 950 West 41st Ave., Vancouver B.C.
The MVA has been listening to communities and organizations across the city, and what’s clear as we emerge from the pandemic is that people have more conviction than ever to rebuild relationships, to do something differently, and to feel like they’re part of something big together. After being apart for so long, it’s time to publicly pledge our dedication and solidarity to each other.
This Solidarity Action will be part celebration, part catalyst for change. We will bring together old, new, and prospective members of MVA to engage in storytelling, to look at where we came from, where we are, and where we’d like to go. This will be followed by a public commitment of time and money to work together on the issues of our time, like Affordability, Reconciliation, and Climate Justice.
By bringing together all kinds of people from all kinds of backgrounds, we will get a glimpse of the whole, the unique gifts all the different traditions bring, and the liberatory power that flows from standing together.
