Overview

Southern Vancouver Island is home to myriad cooperatives, all doing amazing work in their respective communities. However, far too seldom is there space for the cooperative sector to convene themselves. In response to this gap, theDock and BCCA welcome local cooperators to the inaugural monthly co-op café!

Everyone in attendance help will create space and opportunity to foster a stronger and more vibrant community among South Island Cooperatives. At this event, local cooperators will get to meet one another over food and drink, some simple exercises, and casual conversation. Furthermore, the group will collaboratively decide what they’d like to get out of a monthly convening of South Island Cooperatives – how cooperatives can mutually support one another.

Democratic governance and cooperation are crucial to building a sustainable and more resilient future; Together, cooperatives can leverage their wisdom, resources, and model to realize this future.

Food & Drink

Food and drinks will be provided for attendees, there will be a range of dietary options provided for to ensure everyone feels welcome.

Transportation

Modo, our friendly local carshare co-op, has kindly offered to help cover the costs of getting to this event when using Modo. Existing Modo members can access a $25 driving credit for the event, and new Modo members are eligible for a $50 driving credit.
