1678 Fort Street Housing Co-operative's building, The Royal Sovereign, is conveniently located near the Fort Street Junction and Oak Bay Ave., with frequent downtown bus service.
We are a self-governing, age 55 plus
non-profit housing cooperative run by a volunteer Board of Directors with assistance from a property management company. Willingness to volunteer as a Board of Director is a vital part of our cooperative community.
The four-storey, 36-unit wood frame building has one elevator, and was built in the mid- 1960s. The second to fourth floors have balconies. A resident caretaker provides routine maintenance for the building and grounds. The front entrance to our co-op is completely accessible without the need to use stairs. The front entrance is equipped with an automatic handicapped door. A back entrance is also available.
No smoking. No pets. The current housing charges are effective June 2019. Heat and hot water included.
