Understanding sexual harassment in the workplace

  28 January 2022

Our friends at the Ending Violence Association of British Columbia are offering a FREE series of online class through SHARP Workplaces on sexual harassment in the workplace.

If the topic of workplace sexual harassment is new to you, this is a great place to start. This session will introduce you to harassment in the workplace: how to identify it, how common it is, and what factors let it happen. The session would be of great value to any co-op member, as this type of harassment occurs in many different places, including among management, contractors, and/ or member volunteers in housing co-ops.

Ending Violence Association of British Columbia

A SHARP Workplace is respectful, understands its legal responsibilities, and knows how to respond to and prevent sexual harassment. This 90 minute workplace sexual harassment 101 session is the first in our series and lays the framework for understanding sexual harassment in the workplace:

  • how to identify it,
  • how common it is,
  • and factors that enable workplace sexual harassment to happen.

This module provides the basic foundation for the other training modules.
