Last year, to celebrate CHF BC’s 40^th anniversary, we offered member housing co-ops a $4,000 grant focused on environmental sustainability. Eligible projects included greening initiatives, climate change adaptation, and more.

Granville Gardens Housing Co-operative in Richmond was selected as the recipient of our 2022 grant.

With the help of the Sustainability Grant, the co-op installed a heat pump in its community hall, along with a mist station and shading to create an outdoor cooling area. Co-op members were able to make use of the spaces during its summer BBQ and throughout the warm months.
