Successful meetings are the result of good preparation, effective chairing and accurate minute-taking. This workshop takes the guesswork out of what you need in order to prepare for, and run, effective meetings at your co-op.

You will learn about specific meeting tools for different types of housing co-op meetings (such as the annual general meeting, the semi-annual general meeting and special general meetings such as one called for approval of Rules or policies, appeal of termination of membership or to reply to a requisition etc.). Town hall meetings and information meetings will also be covered.

Here are the meeting tools you will take away:

  • An explanation of the different types of meetings
  • Checklists for meeting preparation
  • Sample meeting notices
  • Sample agendas
  • Notes explaining agenda items
  • Meeting agreements
  • Sample rule of order and summary rules of order
  • Sample minutes
  • Sample board report
