CHF Canada and CHF BC have close ties. Staff at both organizations have excellent working relationships, sharing resources and best practices through various collaborations.
In February 2023, CHF Canada invited CHF BC to participate in its annual Member Services Meeting in Ottawa, bringing together people from across Canada over a couple of days to discuss critical issues for non-profit housing co-ops.
The 2022 Year in Review spotlights significant stories and exciting accomplishments of our team of exceptional directors and staff–and—of course—our members who were engaged with their federation more than ever.
We would like to thank our members and the supporters of co-operative housing for contributing to the success of the entire CHF BC group of social enterprises in 2022.
On this day (July 27th) in 1982, the Co-operative Housing Federation of British Columbia (CHF BC) was launched.
Each year we provide a report to our members. This report highlights the achievements of the CHF BC group of social enterprises—CHF BC, COHO Management Services Society, and the Community Land Trust—over the 2021-22 fiscal year and outlines our goals for the year ahead.

2022 marks our 40th anniversary. To celebrate this milestone, we are releasing a special anniversary logo.
Members of an East Vancouver and a Burnaby co-op were featured in a CBC News story on March 7, 2022. The article profiles members of each co-op—including CHF BC director John Bathurst—and includes commentary from CHF BC CEO Thom Armstrong.
2022 marks the 20th anniversary of the merger of The Vancouver Island Co-operative Housing Association and the Co-operative Housing Federation of BC. The result — one federation serving housing co-ops across the province — has been a resounding success.
We would like to thank our members and the supporters of co-operative housing for contributing to the success of the entire CHF BC group of social enterprises in 2021. Our offices will be closed starting December 20. We will be back on January 4 ready for an exciting new year.

At the Annual General Meeting on November 21, 2021, five directors were acclaimed to fill openings on the CHF BC board including three new directors and two re-elected directors.
The Vancouver Island director was acclaimed at the Vancouver Island Council meeting held in October.
