Granville Gardens Housing Co-operative in Richmond was selected as the recipient of our 2022 grant.

With the help of the Sustainability Grant, the co-op installed a heat pump in its community hall, along with a mist station and shading to create an outdoor cooling area. Co-op members were able to make use of the spaces during its summer BBQ and throughout the warm months.

At our 2022 Spring Education Conference, we held two plenary sessions looking at the past, and future of the co-op housing sector in BC.

On this day (July 27th) in 1982, the Co-operative Housing Federation of British Columbia (CHF BC) was launched.

CHF BC and the Sustainability Grant Committee are pleased to announce that Granville Gardens Housing Co-operative in Richmond is the recipient of our 2022 Sustainability Grant.

2022 marks our 40th anniversary. To celebrate this milestone, we are releasing a special anniversary logo.

2022 marks the 20th anniversary of the merger of The Vancouver Island Co-operative Housing Association and the Co-operative Housing Federation of BC. The result — one federation serving housing co-ops across the province — has been a resounding success.
