Winter Learning Continues in 2022

Our popular winter learning series announced last November continues in the new year.

Whether you’re interested in best practices for your co-op in What Makes a Good Boardor looking to learn more about the broader co-operative sector with Co-ops 101 you’ll find our virtual education sessions engaging and practical.

Here are the sessions we have lined up so far:

FEBRUARY

February 3: What Makes a Good Board?
The best workshop for a newly elected board: packed full with the basic knowledge all housing co-op directors need as well as tools for how to work effectively to ensure good governance, sound management and principled leadership.

February 10: Bridging Inequities: The Power of Co-operatives
Learn how co-ops strengthen the democratic processes and lessen inequities as well as how the Co-op Principles and other key tools help build resilient co-ops and stronger communities.

February 17: Co-ops 101
How do co-ops help build a just society and a sustainable economy? What makes them uniquely suited to meeting community needs?

MARCH

March 3: Boards and Committees Working Together
Change is in the air with many co-ops taking a fresh look at board and committee roles to make sure they are delivering the best outcomes. Look at what practices have served us well in the past, what hasn’t worked as well as we’d hoped and what we want for the future.

March 24: 10 Things to look for in your Co-ops Financial Statements
Help for the non-expert to understand the financial statement: the single most important indicator of your co-op’s financial health.

Day and Time

Workshops take place weekday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. PDT.

Cost

All workshops are $40 per person or $200 for six registrations from one co-op.

Non-CHF BC member rates are $80 per person or $400 for six registrations from one co-op.
