CHF BC’s free energy benchmarking program is up and running. And now, for most member co-ops, there’s a direct financial benefit to participation.
CHF BC has always been able to assist setting up accounts without charge, but Vancity has partnered with us to allow grants to be distributed for participation. If your non-profit housing co-op is a Vancity member, it may be eligible for up to $500.

The 2023 Co-op Housing Summer BBQ was a resounding success, filled with mouthwatering food, delightful live music, creative face painting, and thrilling games.

Our Group Buying Program has some exciting news for individual co-op member households!
The new RONA/Lowe’s resident member program is here! Now individual members can get the same discounts as your co-op for everyday in-store maintenance supplies and hardware purchases. Resident members can buy and get savings like a contractor.
On April 28, 2023, CHF BC resumed its program of neighbourhood events with a group of housing co-ops located in the Grandview-Woodland neighbourhood of Vancouver.
Members from a number of housing co-ops from the neighbourhood had the chance to meet and discuss issues of common interest and visit several of the neighbourhood non-profit housing co-ops.

As part of the CHF BC Scholarship process, applicants are asked to write a short essay on a topic related to housing co-ops. The independent Scholarship Committee committee members are consistently impressed with the high quality of insight and writing skills of the applicants.
Last year was no different. They were so impressed in fact that we wanted to share some of their essays will a broader audience.
CHF BC is pleased to announce that members can now shop for their maintenance supplies at Rona and Lowe’s stores across British Columbia using the same VIP Pro in-store account number.
We are pleased to announce that we have renewed our group buying waste and recycling contract with Waste Connections of Canada Inc. They are our group-buying partner for waste services in the Lower Mainland.
CHF BC offers an extensive product selection of photocopiers, multifunction printers, plotters, postage mailing units, and more through our group buying partner, Automation One.
Granville Gardens Housing Co-operative in Richmond was selected as the recipient of our 2022 grant.
With the help of the Sustainability Grant, the co-op installed a heat pump in its community hall, along with a mist station and shading to create an outdoor cooling area. Co-op members were able to make use of the spaces during its summer BBQ and throughout the warm months.
