At our 2023 AGM on November 19, delegates passed an emergency resolution.
The resolution urges the THAT CHFBC urge the federal government and the Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities to launch the Co-op Housing Development Program without further delay.

The Energy Star Portfolio Manager Support Program offers incentives to co-ops that create an Energy Star Portfolio Manager (ESPM) account and share their data with our organizations. It is a partnership of CHF BC and Vancity.
Co-ops who are Vancity members. could access up to $500.
The week (October 15 to October 21) is Co-op Week 2023. CHF BC’s group of social enterprises are proud to continue our tradition of celebrating this important occasion.
Co-op Week celebrates the guiding principles and values of cooperatives. It is a time to proudly celebrate the contributions the co-operative sector has made to the lives of Canadians. It is also to reflect on the seven co-operative principles and put them into practice in you co-op and broader community.

In mid-September, four staff members embarked on an incredible journey through the interior of British Columbia.
Our newest partnership with TRRUST (Transition in Resources, Relationships and Understanding Support Together), supports and facilitate a connection between housing co-ops and youth aging out of government care.
Please join us on October 3, 2023 to discuss perspectives from both the transitioning youth and housing co-operatives.
CHF BC’s Active Resilient Communities program provides a series of facilitated conversations and support to help co-ops develop a grounded vision for the future and an action plan to reach that vision.
We are excited to start offering this program to member housing co-ops across B.C.

CHF BC’s free energy benchmarking program is up and running. And now, for most member co-ops, there’s a direct financial benefit to participation.
CHF BC has always been able to assist setting up accounts without charge, but Vancity has partnered with us to allow grants to be distributed for participation. If your non-profit housing co-op is a Vancity member, it may be eligible for up to $500.
CHF BC hosted the latest get-together in our neighbourhood event series on July 12, 2023, with a group of housing co-ops in the Marpole neighbourhood of Vancouver.
Members from several Marpole housing co-ops spent a beautiful summer evening touring neighbourhood co-ops. During the tour, they shared their co-op living experiences with one another.
