Working Together to Serve our Members Better

CHF Canada and CHF BC have close ties. Staff at both organizations have excellent working relationships, sharing resources and best practices through various collaborations.

In February 2023, CHF Canada invited CHF BC to participate in its annual Member Services Meeting in Ottawa, bringing together people from across Canada over a couple of days to discuss critical issues for non-profit housing co-ops.

Cultivating Relationships with the Land and Each Other

Twin Rainbows Housing Co-operative received a CHF Canada Regional Diversity Grant to hold two workshops on land and cultural dispossession, reconciliation and creating awareness around colonial structures. The workshops aimed to help co-op members build better relations with the land and the host nations.

CMHC announces $118M in assistance for federally-administered co-ops

This funding means that federally-administered co-ops located in BC, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and PEI, whose operating agreements expired before April 2016 will now be able to access rental assistance until 2028 through FCHI.

CHF Canada Celebrates 50 Years!

CHF BC helped welcome our co-op neighbours from across the country at the CHF Canada AGM in Victoria from June 6 to 9. It was the biggest BC contingent ever for an AGM, with nearly 100 co-op delegates, volunteers and CHF BC staff.
